The FDA's own 2011 Food Advisory Committee review concluded that a causal link between certified color additives and behavioral effects "had not been established," while acknowledging some children may be more sensitive than others (FDA). The honest summary: evidence of a small effect in some children exists, but a definitive causal mechanism for the general population does not.

Sweeteners Worth Knowing About

Beyond colors, some supplements use artificial sweeteners like sucralose or acesulfame potassium to mask the taste of bitter active ingredients.
